Broken bones everywhere!!!

Hey all! I guess I need to catch everyone up on what's going on here.

First of all Cloe, our dog, either got in a fight or tried climbing a fence and fell and broke her back right paw. Three bones are broken now and she is out of the woods for any infections. Her paw is all wrapped up and looks about 3 sizes bigger than it really is. We'll take her back to the vet in a couple weeks to she how it's healing.

Next up, Leslie was goofing off at mutual last week and decided to punch the wall. She broke the bone in her right hand of her ring finger. I'll scan x-rays soon. She had surgery today to get the bone back together with three screws. The bone was separated into two pieces and they were jammed about 4 mil. shorter than her other hand. The bone was separated too far apart for just a cast to be put on to heal. The surgeon said today that he was very glad for the surgery because muscle had gotten between the bones so it wouldn't have healed well at all, and would have caused a lot more problems.

So, we now have two gimps in our home. Let's hope no one else gets hurt. We can't afford it!!!
Nope, no luck on a job yet either!

Relief Society Birthday

Last Thursday was the annual Relief Society Birthday party celebration for our ward. I was asked to be on the decorating committee. Let me rephrase that. I was asked to be head of the decorating committee.

I think it took me about 2 seconds to ask for mom to be on the committee with me. I told mom that all she had to do was think of some ideas and I would bring them into fruition. She is definitely creative..... more than myself anyway. She came up with some great suggestions that turned out wonderful.

We made purse shaped sugar cookies that we put into a little gift bag decorated like a purse. We also put inside a penny and a smarties candy roll. I got a pic of the bags, but not the cookies. Then for a centerpiece, we found some purse-shaped gift bags at the dollar store and filled them with tissue paper. They looked really cute too. Another lady in our ward is an antiques dealer and has a large collection of old purses that she agreed to display. It was great too.

Dad was a great help and made some purse holders that everyone just loved. They were a big hit!

Over all, I think it was a great success, and if I get called to help out again, I hope that mom will be easy to get a hold of in the Phillipines or Ginger will be getting a call from me!

A new family member

We recently acquired a new addition to our already large family. His name is Dallas.
He is a pure bred Russian Blue cat. He is a beautiful gray/blue color with green eyes.
He is 11 months old and was free. His previous owners were moving and didn't want him anymore, so we got him.

The good thing is that he is very affectionate and loveable. He loves (okay, tolerates) Zane. He gets along with the dogs and loves to be pet. I think everyone in the family likes him. He is a welcome addition to our home.

Job Search Update

Here's the latest info on my job search. I did not get the airport job. It's ok though. They called me this morning and said after considering all the factors, they aren't hiring any of us for the position. They will just bring in a temp if or when they need the help. So, a month and a half of stressing for nothing. At lease no one else got it either.
I've made the first round of cuts for a job with City Center here. It would start sometime in Sept. Who knows what'll happen. For now, I'll just go to interviews when they present themselves, work for Lee part time and collect unemployment if I can.

That's about it for now. Later.

Thursday... and not much better than Monday!

Hey there! As the title implies, I don't think things are too much better than they were on Monday. My interview on Tuesday went well, I was called back for a 4th interview that happened today. It should be the final one, so I'll let you all know if I got the job or not.

I have not exercised at all since Monday. I am feeling very defeated in that area. BUT, I will do better someday.....I'm hanging in there.

I'll write more later if I feel like it.

It's Monday

Allrighty. It is now Monday morning. I am determined to get something constructive done today and this week, even if it kills me.

I have a 3rd interview with a position I really hope I get. It is between me and one other chick. The interview is tomorrow at 11:45am with the owner of the company. I am excited about this job possibility. It is in Boulder City at the airport there. The commute would be great! I would be an admin. assistant to the owner and three other managers. The company has helicopters and airplanes for tours of the Grand Canyon. The pay would be very good considering what is being offered now. Again, I am really excited for this job. We'll see I guess.

Also, I was able to finally get our treadmill set up this weekend. I am going to start walking today. At least 30 minutes to start, but who knows, it might be more! I really want to get off all the meds I have to take to stay alive. I've tried everything but exercise, so this is it folks. It's do or die time!

I've got to get busy now so stay tuned for more exciting adventures!

Up Again

I seem to be having a bad week this week. Maybe it's because I'm depressed. I don't know.
I haven't been able to sleep well at night. That is definitely not normal for me though. I think being out of work and stressed about money is probably why. But I'm not sure.

I love my new blog design Nat did for me. It's great!

Maybe I'll start writing about all my jobs I'm applying for. I'm over 400 by now. It's really depressing. Maybe not. I'll just get more depressed if I think about it.

I'm going to try to get some sleep now. Stay tuned for more exciting adventures!
